Lincoln Highway Arts Festival Returns September 18th
The Mount Vernon Area Arts Council is proud to announce that the Lincoln Highway Arts Festival is returning for it’s 15th year! Over 40 artists will be participating this year, along with demonstrations, live music, kid’s poetry and altered book workshops, a magician, and a juggler.

Farm-to-Fork Tales coming to Mount Vernon July 8
The Mount Vernon Area Arts Council will present five farmers telling stories about Iowa weather at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 8. The event, Farm-to-Fork Tales, will be on the lawn in front of the First Street Community Center in Mount Vernon.

At its April 19 meeting, the Mount Vernon City Council approved the selection of Lisbon resident Amelia Kibbie as the city’s Poet Laureate for 2021-2022.

Like so many other events, the Lincoln Highway Arts Festival has tried to assess what the COVID-19 situation will be down the road. There were just too many unknowns for us to be comfortable planning an event that attracts a large crowd," said arts council president Steve Maravetz.
