In response to the global pandemic, MVAAC has made the difficult decision to cancel this years annual Lincoln Highway Arts Festival.

Like so many other events, the Lincoln Highway Arts Festival has tried to assess what the COVID-19 situation will be down the road. There were just too many unknowns for us to be comfortable planning an event that attracts a large crowd," said arts council president Steve Maravetz.

"We know this is hard on artists who are trying to sell their art. We are discussing ways to promote the local arts community during a time of reduced person-to-person contact," he said.

MVAAC has created an artist relief grant program to assist artists who are facing difficult financial times because of the pandemic, as well as project grants for artists and educators. Artists have to be residents of Mount Vernon or Lisbon. Past grants have funded public murals, plays, concerts, student art trips, educational materials. Information is available here.
