Posters for Peace Winner Announced MV MS 2018

From the judges:

On behalf of the three of us who judged the Kindness Matters posters, thanks for the opportunity to see the work of your 11-13 year olds. We were extremely impressed with the posters as a whole. Some were obviously better from a technical artistic point of view. Others were outstanding story telling. It was wonderful to see how diverse the students were and how they interpreted the guidelines.  There were 70 entries in all.

It was a very difficult decision but we did our job and selected the heart with the various compartments as our top choice. We felt it was a wonderful combination of art and messages. Each compartment showed a different aspect of kindness and we learned much about the artist from looking at the piece.

While we were asked to select only one, we decided three others merited our comments. We loved the picture of the cat holding the umbrella for the other cat. It showed extremely strong graphic design ability and was a powerful image.

We thought the image of the earth with a rainbow heart in the middle was almost fabric-like in its colors and texture. Lovely!

We were also very impressed with the large peace symbol picture. While not as densely visual as some others, it told us a story with a great deal of movement. Our consensus was that this artist is a true story teller.
