MV Poet Laureate Marianne Taylor extends call for your favorite poems

Marianne Taylor, Mount Vernon’s poet laureate, has removed the deadline for submissions in the local Favorite Poem Project. “We had such a great turnout at our reading event on April 6 that I want to encourage people who haven’t participated to submit their poems,” Taylor said.

She was referring to an event held on April 6 at Mount Vernon Creates! during which time about 20 local residents read their favorite (or a favorite) poem and talked about why that poem touched them.
