Chalk the Walk Returns in 2024

Chalk the Walk returns this year on May 4 and 5 from 10am-6pm. The festival will feature over 150 individual artist squares along with a large featured piece of art that will be created over the weekend by attendees of the festival. Attendees can sign up to do a 2’ x 2’ section of the artwork that will ultimately create a piece that’s approximately 34’ x 44’ in the middle of street. This year’s piece is “Frida Kahlo with Parrot” created by artist Alina Dalinina from Zhytomyr, Ukraine.

Individual artists will also be eligible for prizes sponsored by the Mount Vernon Area Arts Council. Pieces will be judged over the two-day festival, with an awards ceremony late afternoon on Sunday.

A kids section, food trucks, and live music will also be present at the festival. Join us on May 4 and 5th in Uptown Mount Vernon.
